 The Bec des Rosses North face, a 45-55 degree slope with numerous cliffs, couloirs, and steep pitches is the perfect playground for extreme freeriders to rise a challenge.
Pro Riders
Due to the extreme nature and difficulty of this event, only the very best riders are selected. They must be in top physical condition and have thorough mountain experience with proven track records of freeriding at the highest levels.
Sheer Facts
The riders arrive in Verbier at the beginning of the week to study the imposing Bec des Rosses North face. With the help of binoculars they choose a line that incorporates steep pitches, technical difficulties and cliff jumps. The day of the competition the riders hike over an hour to the summit. One by one they descend the face in an attempt to qualify for the finals.
High Altitude Party time
In order to greet the public, a welcoming village is set up at the Col des Gentianes just in front of the Bec des Rosses. The perfect place to admire the breathtaking runs of the freeriders.

Awards
Besides the Awards for the Winners of the Red Bull Xtreme '03, the riders will be granted three specials Awards. Time plays no role in the judging of the competition and lack of control is severely sanctioned.
The Winners of the Red Bull Xtreme '03 are judged by a panel of experienced snowboarders and marked on the following criteria: choice and difficulty of the line, control and fluidity.
The Riders Award: at the end of all the first runs, the riders that have not been selected for the finals will gather together at the Col des Gentianes to vote for the best run of the competition.
Le Matin Public Award: For the finals, 20 spectators will be chosen from the public at the Col des Gentianes. They will be invited to a tent, fully equipped with binoculars, a rider's list and a voting bulletin. The rider that the public appreciates the most will be the winner.
Gilles Voirol Award: will reward the most original line. The judges will award it to a rider of the qualifications or finals.
Total Prize money : 50.000 €
